Week 2... And still alive..

Phew, 1st exam of the training is out of the way and did quite well for the theory.. 100% to be exact and wouldn't expect anything less from myself.. Hahahaha. As for the practical, we learned about opening & closing the doors, turbulence and anticipated/unanticipated emergencies. Just let me say that being cabin crew is not as brain dead as I imagined and definitely not just chicken or fish, coffee or tea... Am extremely stressed out by the amount of workload and am like studying for 3 hours everyday, doing homework and revising. Lets just say that I have not studied so hard for a long long while..

On a seperate note, something interesting that I would like to bring up.. Amazingly, I feel very discriminated in training college. My instructors are very racist. They pick on the Asian students but are blatantly extremely friendly towards the Caucasians. It makes me so angry! Feel like such a 2nd class citizen here.. NEVER had such an issue back at home.. Doesn't help that they think that all Asian looking girls are from CHINA and have a poor command of English.. AM going to TOP my class and hopefully the whole cohort to show them what we Singaporeans are made of.. Hahahahaha ;p

On a lighter note, am so deprived of my noodles soup, pork balls amongst 500 million things I am missing. Am not able to get a decent bowl of noodles and its driving me absolutely nuts.. Am also not able to get any alcohol cos have yet to obtain a liquor license. The group of us did went out on Thursday to the Irish Village for beers and some club frequented by EK crew last week but there's nothing like a glass of wine to unwind after dinner at home.. Especially after a hard day in school.. So, can't wait to get all the silly documentation done for the liquor license, start flying and load up on booze.. Hahahahaha. 4 more weeks of training to go and hopefully can go back to the friendly island of Singapore very soon..

My apartment!!!

Busy Bee!!!

Wow, time has just flown by so quickly and it has been crazy busy from day one. So much to do and absolutely no time to do it. Just trying to get stuff for the apartment and on top of that, going for training every morning at 6am in the morning. God, help me! Hahahaha. It has been great though.. Met this great bunch of girls and thank heavens for them and this support system. Have been able to do my one of my favorite things, which is to cook for everyone and I can safely say that the one thing which I look forward to everyday is dinnertime.. ;p

Some pictures for everyone to take a look at my room and new friends in Dubai.. Am trying to get internet access so that am able to email and upload pictures more frequently.. Hope to talk soon on MSN!!!

I am FINALLY in Dubai!!!

The trials and tribulations experienced on my journey to Dubai.. God! Absolutely unimaginable.. As mentioned in my previous post, I spent the last 3 days freaking out big time and rushing like mad to pack. Turns out all my stress was uncalled for.. Dubai is a pretty cool place, living standards are pretty high though. Groceries and household items are quite pricey compared to Singapore. And due to my utter incompetence in understanding an email, I packed enough work clothes for 5 weeks rather than the stated 3 days worth. Hence, I ended up not bringing any of my food items which are sorely and deeply missed. There is NO PORK, NO WANTAN MEE, BAK CHOK MEE OR PRAWN MEE!! HELP! Think the only thing thats causing me serious agony would be food. Hahahaha ;p

While, with all that said, I would like to add that everything else is FANTASTIC. I have a great apartment, will be posting up some pictures of my place soon. Made a lot of friends and and have a cool Japanese room mate. Will be starting our induction tomorrow, so am trying to get things done like getting detergent, etc. Oh oh oh, I am so proud of myself. Bought a blender and steamer so can start making smoothies and steaming food.. The whole bunch of us went to Carrefour yesterday and would be going to Ikea later to get more stuff.. So, I will sign off right here and wish me luck for the upcoming training...
