Week 5 and almost there...

Phew, 1 more week to go and I can't wait!!! Crazy madness last week hence did not have a chance to blog.. Week 4 went well.. Did my first aid training which was quite fun.. Learnt many useful things and it has definitely been highly beneficial.. Not too sure if I would have the guts to deliver a baby onboard but according to statistics, 70% of all childbirths last year on Emirates were done by new crew.. May God be with me and the mother.. Hahahahaha ;p

Well, well, well.. It has been 5 weeks since I've got here and I am almost done with training!!! Am on the last leg of training which is on service and dare I say that I am really good at it.. Hahahaha ;p Will graduate on the 10th of April if all goes accordingly to plan and ALL will go according to plan.. Hahahaha ;p Janet, my dear big sister will be coming to Dubai for a short trip and attend my graduation.. YEAH!!! Am so happy and I can't wait.. It has not been exactly a bed of roses here in Dubai and it just feels so good to have someone back home to visit..

Upon reflection, I would like to say that I have done not too bad for myself and I think I deserved a pat on the back.. Hee;p It has been like a bootcamp the minute I got here and I SURVIVED! Have never stayed out on my own before and left to fend for myself in every aspect of my life, be it big or small.. Its amazing how mundane and small stuff that I've taken for granted all my life seems to manifest itself in Dubai.. Example: dust. God, it is so bloody dusty and sandy here.. Never-ending, continuous amount of dust that magically appears everyday.. Hahahahaha ;p

Am definitely adjusting to life here.. Slowly but surely.. With graduation in plain sight, I feel more relaxed and alive.. Was just surviving the past weeks on a day-to-day basis but now, I have the time to think and plan what I want to accomplish and achieve in Dubai.. First of all, I want to learn driving and buy a car.. I think this is the only time I would be able to afford a RAV 4.. Hahahah ;p Cars are relatively cheap here and petrol is cheap too.. Also, as I am most unfortunately staying in the Tuas area of Dubai, it does make more sense for me to buy a car.. So...... Once I've settled down more, I will start going for driving lessons.. I can already hear and see the alarm signals going off in my aunt's head.. Hahahaha. My dear aunt, I will practise safe driving and please tell my dad that I am not a hazard on the road.. ;p

With the car, then I would be able to do so many things.. Simple things like going to get groceries which is an absolute nightmare here.. This is because the transport here is TERRIBLE.. Cabs are impossible to get and also very expensive.. In addition, I would be free to go explore Dubai and go do stuff.. I wanna start sailing again and also learn to play golf amongst other things on my To-Do-List in Dubai 2008.. Hahahah;p

Hmmm.. It has been an extremely long entry and my roommate is asking for her laptop back.. Long story.. To be continued very shortly.. Stay tuned..... ;p T
